Setting up a standing order at Barclays Bank

Note: for any bank other than Barclays, donors are kindly requested to contact their own banks to arrange a standing order.

Donors who bank at Barclays can set up a standing order with Barclays via the mobile app, online banking, by phone or by going into a branch.

Setting Up a Standing Order via Barclays Mobile App

1. Log in to your Barclays app.
2. Tap ‘Pay & Transfer’from the menu at the bottom of the screen, then select ‘Manage your payments’
3. Tap ‘Manage Standing Orders’and choose the account you want the standing order to come from.
4. Tap New standing order’at the bottom of the screen.
5. Add or select a payee:
   • Choose an existing payee from your list, or tap ‘Add new payee’ to enter the recipient’s bank details.
   • Barclays will verify the details with the recipient’s bank; if they match, you can continue.
6. Enter payment details:
   • Specify the amount, reference, and frequency (e.g., weekly, monthly).
   • Choose whether this is a one-off payment or a recurring standing order.
7. Confirm and authorise:
   • Review the payment details.
   • For new payees, you may need to provide additional debit card details for security.
   • Tap ‘Confirm’ to finalise the standing order

Setting Up a Standing Order via online banking

1. Log in to Online Banking
2. Select ‘Move money’ from your account homepage.
3. Then select ‘Transfers and standing orders’
4. Follow the on-screen instructions and choose the person or organisation you want to make payments to
5. You’ll need to authorise the payment using your PINsentry card reader, or the PINsentry feature in the Barclays app

Setting Up a Standing Order by phone

You can set up a standing order using Telephone Banking, if you’re registered.

1. Personal customers – call 0345 734 5345*
2. Premier customers – call 0800 924 7365*
3. Business customers – call 0345 605 2345*
